BELVOIR CASTLE - Leicestershire
Belvoir Castle, standing proudly in the Vale of Belvoir and home to the Duke of Rutland’s family since 1067, is one of the finest examples of Regency architecture in the world.
But there’s so much more to Belvoir… beautiful formal gardens with water features, woodland trails, the chance to enjoy country pursuits, a stunning rural retail village and of course the opportunity to celebrate a wedding or christening in fairy-tale style.
So take a little time to plan your visit to get the most out of this special corner of England. We’re very much looking forward to seeing you.
Discover 16,000 acres of valleys, parkland and lakes with beautifully established gardens and trails. Changing in harmony with the seasons, you’ll find something new on every visit.
The castle is packed with interesting artefacts and treasures collected by the family over the centuries, and well worth a visit if you’re interested in social history – or just fancy a look around what is still a family home.
There are many lovely walks to enjoy at Belvoir – suited to able and less mobile visitors alike.
Shorter strolls take in the formal gardens on the Castle terrace and into the woodland through the Japanese, Duchess and Hermit’s gardens. If you’re up for a longer walk, try the three-mile circular Duke’s Walk, which includes all the gardens and stunning views back to the Castle.
